Bill Rihn. B.S./Engineering, Caltech. One of the founders of Kinemetrics, the world leader in the design and manufacture of seismological and strong-motion earthquake measuring instruments. Prior to that, chief engineer for the seismic experiment placed on the moon by the Apollo astronauts.Served 12 years on school boards in San Gabriel and Bass Lake. Also served twelve years on the Los Angeles County Committee for School District Organization. Currently a volunteer at El Morro school.
Past president of the Yosemite Area Audubon Society. Past director of the Linda Vista-Annadale [homeowners] Association in Pasadena for six years, two years president. On the SLCA board since 2002, president since 2003. Along with many, many other hopes and goals for helping to make life better for everyone in South Laguna, I have set a longer term goal: to make absolutely sure that the billboard on Coast Highway between 4th and 5th is removed upon the expiration of the 15 year grace period that resulted from the settlement of a lawsuit brought by the billboard company. The expiration date is 2 October 2010; it shall not stand after that!.
